High Hopes

High Hopes

In their song, ‘High Hopes’, the alternative-rock band Kodaline tries to convey a sense of optimism to the listener through lyrics like, “But I’ve got high hopes, it takes me back to when we started. High hopes, when you let it go, go out and start again.”

Steve Garrigan, a member of the band, told Radio.com, “We were doing our own thing and I was sitting at the piano and going through a tough time and wrote that song about just trying my best to think positive. As cliché as it is, music is therapy. It’s like venting. You’re getting it off your chest and it feels good.”
