This Ted Talk by Susannah Temko talks about the shame and prejudice associated with the intersex community. Drawing from her own experiences Temko explains how intersex individuals are forced to conform to a binary set of gender rules and norms. However, this can cause detrimental effects not only on physical health but mental health. She encourages the removal of gender binaries in order to help resolve this issue and provide support to the intersex community.
