Not Wilfred Owen

Patrick Howse, a former producer with the BBC, wrote about his experience in Iraq between 2004 and 2009 after a diagnosis of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. As someone who had survived the war in Iraq, Patrick was discontent with the media portrayal of war in comparison to his personal experience. He writes,“there’s a difference between seeing something on TV and experiencing it, and I believe poems should be sincere reflections on personal experiences”. This poem was written by Howse, and filmed at the Brancusi Atelier near the Pompidou Centre in Paris.
