In this TED Talk, Sue Klebold, mother of Dylan Klebold, one of the Columbine High School shooters, attempts to make sense of the tragedy caused by her son and his classmate Eric Harris. She discusses how suicidal ideation may lead to homicidal ideation, and the desperate need to detect signs and attain help for those struggling with such thoughts. She further acknowledges her own mental-health challenges in the aftermath of the shooting, and how these challenges led her to a clearer understanding of her son’s actions.
