We often view stress as detrimental to our health and work on reducing stress in our lives at all costs. However, what if we changed our perspectives, assuming that stress is not only good for us, but even beneficial. This is exact what Kelly McGonigal discusses in her TED talk, called “How To Make Stress Your Friend”. McGonigal goes on to say that by changing our mindsets to embraces stress rather than avoid it, we can change how our body responds to stress altogether. Stress is inevitably apart of our lives, but if we can change our perceptions of stress and learn to channel it into something useful, we can help our physical and mental health in the long run.
