“The Final Masquerade” is a rock ballad by the band Linkin Park that implies a sense of negativity and foreboding. Interestingly, however, the instrumentals create a juxtaposition by evoking a powerful sense of optimism to continue moving forward through life’s struggles.

The music video, released in 2014, illustrates this contrast further. MusicinsiderU explains: “The message seems at first to be that good and meaning have lost as the white angel collapses on the ground in tears, but surprisingly in the end she gets back up, stoops and rescues a child that has been left on the road. At the same time a man who seemed dead awakes, the mother embraces her child, the lead singer and a boy rise out of the grave in which they were lying. It seems that hope is still possible, that there will be resurrection.”
