Narcissism Depicted as Art

Born in 1904, Salvador Dali is a revolutionary Spanish painter known for his distinct surrealist style. A great admirer of Freud, he was interested in psychology, and in particular, narcissism. His painting The Metamorphosis of Narcissus depicts the Greek mythological story of Narcissus. After falling in love with his own reflection, narcissus died of grief after learning that he could not never obtain the image that he fell in love with.
