Acceptance

This series of images created by York University student Jessica Butler, represents her struggle with anxiety. The series represents internally feeling overwhelmed and chaotic, while externally appearing quiet and subdued. Butler conveys this as a period of when her past traumas began to make their way to the surface years later, after the immediate threat had passed. The images depict the beginning of her recovery process, and acknowledgment of her distress. Soon after, the artist sought help by reaching out to a mental health program.
