Lesley Oldaker uses bleak and gloomy shades of grey in her paintings, a particularly famous of which is entitled “Passing Through.” The paintings are often filled with people, but also evoke sadness and loneliness, highlighting how individuals with mental illness may still feel isolated amongst those who cannot understand them.
