‘Scars’, a song by artist Allison Iraheta, describes her personal journey through emotional abuse and depression. The lyrics depict the sense of hopelessness and confusion she felt through her teenage journey. At the end of the song however, there is a strong sense of moving past negative experiences, finding hope, and rebuilding one’s sense of self.
